Rubber Tubing

Rubber tubes are used to transport and transfer various type of fluid and gases. Typically, rubber tubes are used in a variety of hydraulic, pneumatic, medical and many other applications in the flow lines of fluids and gases.

The tubes are usually measured with their outer diameter and are generally supplied as roller forms. These tubes can be bought in different colors or clear as well as flexible or hard and dry on the market. Some of these tubes are multi-purpose or general-purpose, which can be used in many applications.

But some of these tubes are specific to one application and are made for a specific purpose.

What kind of rubber are used to produce rubber tubes?

In general, we can say that a variety of rubbers can be used to produce rubber tubes. Natural rubber such as latex and gum to various types of synthetic rubber used to produce these types of tubes.

Natural Rubber Tubing

Therefore, as explained, natural rubber is also used to produce rubber tubes. But in general, two types of natural rubber are used to produce rubber tubes that are:

  • Gum Tubing:

A gum-made rubber tube is one of the cheapest and most affordable types of rubber tubes, which, of course, have excellent resistance to abrasion. These tubes have good memory and high resistance to tearing, and therefore their performance is a great vacuum tube. In addition, in various applications, rubber tubing can be used because they are very resistant to heat and friction coefficient.

  • Latex Tubing:

Latex rubber tubes are produced either in the form of dry stocks or sheet stocks. In order to achieve the final product or rubber tube, this type of rubber is first vulcanized and then its compound is extruded or molded. These types of tubes have a very flexible structure, especially at low temperatures.

Synthetic Rubber Tubing

Except for the natural rubber, various synthetic rubbers are also used to produce rubber tubes. In general, a variety of synthetic rubbers used to produce these tubes can be classified into the following categories:

  • Silicone Tubing:

Silicon synthetic rubber is one of the best types of synthetic rubber that is very resistant to high temperatures. Rubber tubes made of silicone rubber are not only resistant to high temperatures but also have other characteristics, such as resistance to ozone warming, high resistance to a variety of chemicals, and high aging power. Although silicon rubber tubes are used in many industries, most of these tubes are used in industries such as pharmaceuticals or health care.

  • Nylon Tubing:

Another type of synthetic rubber for producing rubber tubes in different types is nylon rubber that is are very popular because of their high elastic memory. These types of tubes can last a long time without fracture and have a long life span. The nylon tubes also have excellent resistance to impact.

What are the Features of rubber tubes?

rubber tubes or tubing are also known as rubber pipes, and they are used in many industries for a variety of purposes because they have valuable properties. In general, the most important and most specific features of rubber tubes are:

  • Hardness:

Rubber tubes have a high resistance to permanent deformation.

  • Specific Gravity:

Rubber tubes have a very high compression ratio of the density of rubber to the density of water at a specific temperature.

  • Tensile Strength:

Rubber tubes can be stressed and stretched for long periods of time without being broken.

  • Elongation:

The increase in the length of rubber in rubber tubes, which occurs due to longitudinal stress and expressed as a percentage, is very high.

  • Brittle Temperature:

The strength of the rubber tubes at the lowest temperature that rubber can brittle easily is superb.

  • Operating Temperature:

Rubber tubes can be used in different temperature ranges. Typically, rubber tubes at any temperature range, depending on their structure, have high resistance and can be safely and effectively used.

  • Diameter:

This feature, measured in centimeters or inches, is a fairly large expression and the distance between the two ends of the tube from its center

Types of Rubber Tubing

Typically, rubber tubes are manufactured by rubber tube manufacturers in a variety of ways. But the most types of rubber tubes produced by these factories can be found in the following models:

  • Conductive or Semi-Conductive Tubing:

These types of rubber tubes do not allow static electricity.

  • Spark Resistant Tubing:

Generally, these rubber tubes have an electrical discharge characteristic.

  • Explosion Proof Tubing:

These rubber tubes are manufactured and used to prevent explosions caused by gas, steam, dust and so on.

  • Sterilized Tubing:

Usually sterile tubes are treated for use in the medical or healthcare industry using gamma rays, dry substances or chemical disinfectants.

  • Reinforced Tubing:

Reinforced rubber tubes are manufactured for use in certain industries, and typically include fibers or banding, multi-element tubes with concentrated layers and multi-functional tubes, and are usually produced in a special ribbon or configuration.

  • Coiled or Spiraled Tubing:

Another type of rubber tubes available on the market for special applications.

  • Corrugated Rubber Tubes:

In order to increase the life span, the compression capacity and increase the flexibility of the tubes, they produce corrugated Rubber Tubes.

What are the advantages of rubber tubes?

The choice and use of rubber tubes is nowadays very common, and many companies and factories prefer to use rubber tubes for the following reasons:

  • Rubber tubes have anti-explosive properties
  • Rubber tubes are used extensively because of their resistance electrical discharge
  • The most important features of rubber tubes are their high flexibility
  • Color variations in rubber tubes are high and they can be made in different colors
  • Another feature of the rubber tube is its tensile strength.

Different applications of rubber tubes

Rubber tubes are used for a number of purposes, and the most important of these are:

  • Use rubber tubes as drainage tubes
  • Use of rubber tubes as rubber surgery tubes in medical and pharmaceutical industries
  • As gas and liquid displacement tubes in laboratories at low pressure
  • Rubber tubes in air pumps, machines and aspirators as complete vacuum services
  • Rubber tubes are used in different industries with different temperature range and with resistance programs
  • These types of tubes are used extensively in the aerospace industry
  • Rubber tubes are widely used in chemical industry.
  • Use of rubber tubes in cryogenic
  • In food and hygiene industry, food processing is used from rubber tubes and so on
